14th-Seven? Damn...

14-If my past self ever try fishing, I bet he become a fishing nerd, haha... As I enjoy eating, I feel gazes on my back. "Who's there!" They are seven goblins, probably the same age as me. I never try to speak with others, so this is pretty awkward and nerve wrecking, plus they didn't utter a single word. They look hopeless or they're simply drooling over my food? They're 7 of them, I won't have a chance. "If you guys join me, I will give you guys half a fish each." In a monotone voice of course, my past self is social-recluse. He is freaking useless at this kind of thing. I want to ask them to sit beside me that's all. The seven goblins take their seat around the fireplace and I give them what I promised, half a fish each. They introduce themselves as Eme, Mint, Genbu, Jin, Kame, Tris and Re'ne. They feel really grateful for giving them food. Eating on bugs, seeds and trees' barks, no longer fill them up. "Horned rabbits are too dangerous." "Yeah but don't you kill lizards or maybe frogs? They're pretty easy to catch." Ok, I guess these guys are just too stupid. "With all seven of you, killing a horned rabbis won't be that hard. Just surround it and be wary of it's horn." ""Really?!"" Hearing that, they start to look at each other. "We got a chance?" "For sure?" "Probably." "Do you ever try?" "Alone, no. I am just saying there are better chance of success if you has numbers."

13th Post-What that creepy voice?

13-Ok, that just creepy. Whatever, I think should increase the distance to 4 metre now. Afterward, after shooting 100 more time. "Learn lvl3 - owl's eyes." Huh?! So the voice isn't my imagination. Hmmm..... Either way, they're nothing I can do, no? On to 6m, then. "Learn lvl1-Vulture's eyes." Oh, another skill? Should I just aim much further? 8m then. After a couple shots. "Learn lvl2-Vulture's eye." When I already able to aim from the distance of 10m. "Learn lvl3-Vulture's eyes." Hmmm... Calculatively, I will learn lvl10 vulture' eye if I can shoot at the distance of 24m, but how about Owl's Eyes? *sigh* Ops, it is almost dusk. I seriously need to try get some fish. Hmmm.... Aiming at moving targets is harder then I thought..... I think I should try use spears. They're heavier. Throwing spears is also too hard and I can't fooling around anymore. No more throwing spears, just kill these god-damn fishes already. Ooooo...... Dang, should have done it right from start. After spearing about 5fishes, I get all my stuffs and run straight to the cave and reach it just in time before dusk. I am not sure I am ready to take on any nocturnals monsters just yet. If this is an RPG, wouldn't nocturnal monsters get something like 30% boost in strength during the night? Either way, let roast these fishes already, I am starving. I am not fond of eating fishes in past life because they are not cheap, but eating them for free is really the best.

12th Post-Bow and arrows

12-Making arrows are easy so I could skip on that for now. I should concentrate more on making the bow. Since the string can only be made from vines, the elasticity should be dependant on the bow itself, for that purpose I bind together two different piece of branches from different kind of trees. I shape them up so they could stick together, perfectly. I feel the bow is a little bit too light, too brittle and can easily snap. So, stick it with another two kind of piece of woods too made it a little bit sturdier as well as heavier. The string is made similar to how rope in the past life look like by making bridle of three really thin vines I could find. I made a couple more sets. As I at it, I even made fishing lines. With the bow complete, I try the bow using a straight twig to get the idea on the size of the arrows. Hmmm..... 1m is too long. A little bit shorter would do it. It is fine as long as it's not too light. I made the arrows by cutting equally big thick straight branches with the stone axe. It is much easier and faster this way. Suddenly I heard weird voice. "Learn beginner craftmanship." "Learn arrow-making." I decide to ignore it since I am more interested in testing these arrows with the bow I just made. I then shoot a couple of shots on the mark I made when practicing with rocks earlier at the same distance. Upon the 50th shots I hear another weird sound. "Learn lvl 1 - owl's eyes" Ignoring it, I decide to continue practicing. "Learn lvl 2 - Owl's eyes"

11th Post-Fear

11-Unlike lizards and snakes, crocodiles don't have two pronged tongue which mean they has poorer sense of smell. Quick and quietly, I leave the place and went back. When think about it, salt water crocodile can easily grow to 6m in length. Which mean, those guys probably on the medium size. I don't think I will be forever lucky. I need to get stronger quickly. I need magic. Becoming an ogre won't even out-match those crocodilians in term of size.

As I eat my lunch, I feel tremendous fear. I am currently a goblin. Weak and pathetic. They're no real society nor real civilization to fall back to. My first hurdle, the horned rabbits are fast and has lethal weapons. Will making traps make me strong? Yes and no. Yes because I will train my body and no because it doesn't give me battle experience. I still missing something, but what? By the way, what should I do if the rabbits doesn't die when fall into the trap? Should I poke them with spear? Why should I do if they're those who doesn't fall into it? Fight them with spear? Confident? Not in the slightest. The fact they're almost as big as a goblin is seriously bothering me. They're also those bigger snakes. How about those? I might have prepare a weapon to beat them but can I beat them? If only I can just shoot them like in movies. Huh? That's it! Bow and arrows. I must make a bow and arrows.

10th Post-I want them bigger, but...

10-I can't just simply use this spears. I need them for rabbits' traps, plus throw spears when you suck at sport smell disaster. Let start from down up. From rocks to spears. I made a mark on a nearby tree. Let start target practice about 2m. Too short? So? I only hit once in my first 5 tries. After practice around 100 tries, I still miss 2 out of 5. I then do another 100 tries and then decide to hunt something for lunch. I hid some of my stuffs in nearby bushes and went hunting with a couple of spears and the stone axe. I carry along the stone knives. I doesn't want to lost them. I spent too much time on making them after all. Killing big bugs, centipedes, etc are much easier now. The spear has long reach made it easier to hit them and slice through their necks and joints with the stone axe to maintain it's already not so sharp edge. Sharpening it is a whole lot of work. Today lunch is another roasted bugs buffet. I feel that lizards no longer can satisfied me. Unless I could found much bigger lizards, I probably won't eat them for a while. Or so I thought. Since I decide to leave my stuffs, I decide to walk down the stream and come upon a group of lizardmen, around a dozen. Yeah, humanoid lizards and they're huge. 2? No, they're at least 3m tall on their hind legs. Their tails must be at least 2m long.
-I do wish for bigger lizards, but these are practically 10 time bigger then me. Huh? They don't detect me? Hmmm.... I see.... These guys are actually crocodilians.

9th Post-I am too young?

9-After he finish the centipede I give him, he suddenly stand up.
"You don't want some more?"
There are plenty more centipedes and I want to hear more, but I realized there are huge bulge in Gobujie's crotch area. Smiling, he disappear into the back of the cave. I seriously thought he want to do me. Maybe, I am too young? After finish eating all the centipedes, I decide to do my exercise regime before go to sleep.

7th day


Upon waking up, I decide to sharpen one end of the branches to make spears. After I run out of suitable branches, I went out of the cave along with the spears that I tie together with vines and carry them on my back as well as yesterday's lizards, a stone axe and two stone knives. I decide to go straight to the stream, running.

I am already out of breath when I reach the stream. Running while carrying all these luggage is tiring. After I finish with my exercise regime, I clean myself and have roasted lizards and some fruits that I pick up on the way here for breakfast. I clean them with water like how my past self do. It's kinda nostalgic. I burn a bit the sharp edges of the spears. This is my past life's wisdom from watching movies. It's probably to make them hard, which is kinda true. Why don't we test these spears? But on what? Hmmm? How about fishes? I have been spending my time around the stream but I never once eat fish. So I decide to spear some fish today. Before that let practice aiming first with rocks for starter.

8th Post-The name is Ran, Goburan!

8-"You forgot? It's Ran. Goburan."
"Ran?" (That pretty lame).
Hmmm....? Why does my name sound like Japanese? Are the goblin language I am talking right now is actually Japanese? Hmmm....
"About magic, can you teach me?"
"I don't know, but there is a homogoblin among us who know."
"Can you introduce me?"
"He and the rest of the adults are currently on the hunt. They will probably return within a month." "Isn't there any books I can learn it from?"
"There are books at the back of the cave, but that place is off-limit for you youngsters and can you read?"
Hmmm.... the goblin language and English language is different. The writings are probably different as well.
"No. Can't you teach me?"
"Haha. I can't read too."
Hearing that I feel disappointed. I already work up when I hear the word "magic" , but I guess I should just wait a month.
"If you want, I can find you those books for you."
"Really?"
"Yeah, think of it as repayments for this centipede."
"Yeah!"
I spontaneously hug Gobujie. In respond he rub my head. As we eat, he told me about rank-up. He think, I has potential so, it's better I knew this early. There are something like lvl-ing system in this world and us goblins rank-up into homogoblin when reach lvl 100. Afterwards, we rank-up further depend on what we do/eat. Homogoblin who live on eating corpses and blood will rank-up into ghouls. They're kinda like zombies but stronger. They're also ogre which can rank-up further into minotaurs, Lord-series and even vampires.
